About This Worksheet
This Grade 2 subtraction practice sheet helps students build confidence through carefully arranged questions that move from simple calculations to more challenging problems. The worksheet includes four practice levels: easy, medium, advanced, and mixed. Students begin with familiar facts, then work with two-digit numbers, regrouping, missing numbers, and a variety of question styles. A separate word-problem section connects subtraction to everyday situations such as collecting toys, reading books, shopping, and counting classroom supplies. Encourage students to read each question carefully, write their calculations neatly, and check whether each answer makes sense. For word problems, students should identify the starting amount, the amount taken away or the difference being compared, and the question being asked. Answer keys are included at the end so learners can check their work after each section. Teachers and parents may use the sheet for classroom practice, homework, revision, or extra support.
How to use it: Complete one section at a time. Show working where needed, and use the answer keys only after attempting the questions.

Teacher / Parent Note
If a student finds a question difficult, ask them to underline the starting number and circle the number being taken away. For two-digit subtraction, counters, base-ten blocks, or a number line can make the process easier to understand. Praise careful thinking and clear working, not just speed.
